The Marangu Route, also known as the Coca Cola route, is the least expensive way to reach Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit. It is uniquely equipped with communal sleeping huts at every campsite, complete with solar lights and comfortable beds featuring sponge mattresses and pillows.

Climbers from around the world often share meals in communal dining huts, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Typically completed in 5 days, making it the shortest route to the summit, the Marangu Route can also be extended to 6 days to allow for better acclimatization. The additional day can be spent resting at Horombo Hut or climbing the small peak of Mawenzi.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Int. Airport for your climb

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport our guide will be there waiting for you. He will will drop you off at your hotel, where you can relax from your flight.
Preparation for your climb: You will meet your guide before the beginning of your climb. He will brief you and give you details, like what to wear, what to put in your backpack and other important tips to make the climb as comfortable as possible for you.

Day 2: Marangu Gate (1,830 m/ 6,000 ft) - Mandara Huts (2,700 m/ 8,858 ft)
